Plans, not listings.
A field trip is a route: a handful of stops in an order that makes sense, with the driving worked out and an opinion about which one to skip. A directory tells you what exists. These tell you what to do with a Saturday.
America's biggest free-admission park. You pay per ride or buy a book. Finish with Freas in Berwick so the day has an adult ending.
Montour Preserve for trails and Lake Chillisquaque. Bason after for coffee. Nature without packing for three days.
Fourth Taco to start, pizza if you still have room, then records and a bookshop. Park once on Bloomsburg Main if you can.
Selinsgrove thrift and antiques into Shamokin Dam's big multi-vendor floor. You will buy something you did not need.
Point Barn first, then downtown antiques, coffee or a sub, and a Front Street pint. Northumberland without the Priestley loop.
Bill's Old Bike Barn first. Dead Man Walking after. Escape room if you still have brain cells. Not Main Street brunch.
Scratch lunch and coffee on Milton Broadway, a maker stop if the door is open, then the river island for air. Cheap if you behave.
STEAM makerspace, Sunbury Station coffee and vintage, then 61 PinBar south of town. Sunbury without the hot-dog-and-overlook script.
Mini golf or a bucket of balls at Tee To Green, then sit-down at The Iron Fork on the Frosty Valley grounds. Feels like you left town.
Real anthracite mine and a 1927 steam train in Ashland, then Mount Carmel for lunch. Seasonal. Confirm before you commit the miles.
Pine Barn lunch in Danville, Priestley House for oxygen trivia, overlook at the forks before dark. Three towns. They remember the view.
Two days, five stops. Day 1 coffee and books west across the valley. Day 2 river walk then Selinsgrove lunch. Do this once and the map stops feeling like a parking lot with a hospital in it.
Lewisburg Market Street under a roof. Coffee in a bike shop, free art, Mondragon, then lunch. Better than the sunny version.
Squeeze-In since 1945, then the overlook while the light goes. The cheapest good evening in the valley. Sunbury only.
Columbia County covered bridges before lunch. Wanich north of Bloomsburg, the twin pair near Orangeville, Josiah Hess two minutes later, Fowlersville at Briar Creek, then Dough Monster on Front Street before they close.
Two farms and lunch in between. You pick your own apples and pumpkins at Green's in Elysburg, eat on Mill Street in Danville, then spend the afternoon in a seven-acre corn maze outside Milton. There is a pumpkin slingshot. You will use it.
